Fleas Fleas Fleas YeahSummer is here and fleas are a growing problem in our area. With the warm winter we had they seem to be an even bigger issue than before. There are a number of things you can do to help prevent a flea problem on you pet and in your home. Treat the yardYou will want to treat shady areas, damp areas, doghouses, and other areas your pet spends most of its time. Treatment is most effective when the ground is damp but be sure the area has had time to drybefore allowing your pet back in it. Repeat treatments every 3-4 weeks, always following specific product guidelines. We recommend Over and Out. It is available at local lawn and garden retail stores.Treat the houseWe recommend you use a professional exterminator but if you choose to do it yourself then we recommend KNOCKOUT spray for your home. We carry this product in our clinic and have had great success with it.Treat your petKeeping your pet on a monthly flea preventative year round is important. We carry several options when it comes to flea prevention. All your pets should be treated at the same time. It is important to treat your yard, house, and pet at the same time using appropriate products for each. Don’t waste your time or money on over the counter products and quick fixes because most of them won’t work. Below is a list of products we recommend and carry. Also I have included a printable file for you to keep on FLEA CONTROL. We hope this helps you and your war on fleas. Thank you.
